الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاه والسلام على نبينا محمد وعلى اله وصحبه اجمعين

The Islamic Council of Europe would like to send its condolences to the entire Muslim Ummah, it’s Scholars and Duaat for the great loss of Imam Yusuf al-Qaradawi, may Allah shower him with His immense Mercy and raise his status amongst the Siddiqeen.

Imam Yusuf al-Qaradawi was an example of a scholar who spent his entire life which Allah extended for almost 100 years in the promotion and protection of the Deen. The Imam spent his time in the struggle and education of the Ummah in all areas connected with the Deen of Allah. The Shaykh established a number of international organisations which serve the Muslim Ummah worldwide. He travelled all over the world and stood in solidarity with Muslims while providing them guidance and support in their times of difficulty.

His passing is a huge loss for our Ummah and for the entire world. We ask Allah to grant the Ummah the best compensation for this loss. Inna lilallahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon.

The Prophet peace be upon him said,

“Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people, but He takes it away by taking away (the lives of) the religious scholars till none of the scholars stays alive. Then the people will take ignorant ones as their leaders, who, when asked to deliver religious verdicts, will issue them without knowledge, the result being that they will go astray and will lead others astray.”

Allah says, (Translation of the meaning)

“God will raise up, by many degrees, those of you who believe and those who have been given knowledge: He is fully aware of what you do.”
